Role Overview
As a Business Development Executive at OPRUSS, you will be the frontline representative of our brand. Your primary mission is to identify, engage, and convert leads into long-term business relationships — spanning direct end-customers, channel partners, dealers, consultants, and EPC contractors. You will travel extensively across your assigned territory to build and grow OPRUSS's market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across pollution monitoring systems.
- Build and manage a strong dealer/channel partner network in the assigned territory
- Conduct client visits, product presentations, and technical demonstrations of OPRUSS products
- Generate leads through cold calling, field visits, industry events, and referrals
- Prepare and submit techno-commercial proposals and quotations in coordination with the co-ordinator.
- Negotiate and close deals while maintaining healthy profit margins
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
- Track competitor activity, market trends, and customer feedback to inform strategy
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, pipeline, and customer interactions in CRM
- Coordinate with the operations and service team for smooth project handover and after-sales support
- Attend trade fairs, exhibitions, and industry meets to represent OPRUSS
- Submit periodic travel and sales reports to management
Candidate Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechanical Engineering — preferred
- Diploma in Engineering with strong sales track record — considered
- MBA in Marketing / Sales as an added advantage
Experience
- 2–6 years of B2B field sales experience in industrial automation, pollution monitoring systems would be an advantage
- Proven record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Prior experience selling to municipalities, consultants, EPC companies, or industrial plants are a strong plus
Technical Knowledge
- Basic understanding of monitoring systems, motor control panels, or industrial IoT solutions
- Familiarity with STP/ETP/WTP processes and equipment is a distinct advantage
- Ability to understand and explain technical product specifications to non-technical customers
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills — English, Hindi, and regional language preferred
- Strong relationship-building ability with clients and channel partners
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working independently in the field
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM tools
- Willingness to travel extensively (60–70% travel)
- Strong time management and reporting discipline.
