Job Summary
The Final Inspector is responsible for performing comprehensive inspections on new and serviced vehicles before delivery. The role involves checking vehicle appearance, functionality, accessories, documentation, and roadworthiness to ensure the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct final quality inspections of vehicles before customer delivery.
- Inspect the exterior and interior for scratches, dents, paint defects, and cleanliness.
- Verify that all accessories and customer-requested fittings are installed correctly.
- Check vehicle fluids, tyre pressure, battery condition, and overall mechanical readiness.
- Test the operation of lights, horn, wipers, power windows, air conditioning, infotainment system, and other electrical components.
- Ensure all repair and service jobs are completed as per the job card.
- Perform a final road test, if required, to confirm vehicle performance.
- Confirm that Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) and quality checklists are completed accurately.
- Coordinate with the Service, Workshop, Body Shop, and Washing teams to rectify any defects before delivery.
- Ensure all mandatory documents, owner's manual, warranty booklet, spare key, and tool kit are available.
- Report quality issues to the Workshop Manager or Quality In-Charge.
- Maintain inspection records and ensure compliance with company quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/ITI in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in automobile service, PDI, or vehicle inspection.
- Freshers with relevant technical qualifications may be considered for trainee positions.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of automobile systems and vehicle components.
- Good attention to detail and observation skills.
- Ability to identify cosmetic and mechanical defects.
- Knowledge of PDI procedures and quality standards.
- Basic computer skills for documentation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driving licence (LMV) is preferred.
