Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate mechanical project execution activities for DRI, SMS, CPP and Ferro Alloy plants.
- Coordinate with engineering, civil, electrical, instrumentation, procurement, operations and maintenance teams.
- Review mechanical drawings, equipment layouts, specifications, GA drawings and technical documents.
- Coordinate with OEMs, consultants, contractors and equipment suppliers for technical requirements.
- Monitor mechanical equipment fabrication, inspection, dispatch, erection and installation.
- Supervise and coordinate erection of equipment such as:
- Crushers, conveyors and material handling systems
- Rotary Kilns and associated equipment
- Furnaces and furnace-related equipment
- Pumps, compressors and blowers
- Cooling systems and utility equipment
- Structural and mechanical packages
- Piping and related systems
- Monitor site progress against project schedules and identify delays or technical issues.
- Coordinate pre-commissioning, trial runs and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
- Ensure equipment installation is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications and OEM recommendations.
- Coordinate inspection, testing and punch-point closure before commissioning.
- Prepare and maintain daily/weekly project progress reports and technical trackers.
- Conduct technical meetings with vendors, contractors and project teams and maintain MOM.
- Resolve site-level mechanical issues in coordination with engineering teams and OEMs.
- Ensure proper documentation of drawings, equipment records, inspection reports and commissioning documents.
- Support project management in monitoring project milestones, critical activities and pending technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety and project standards during mechanical execution.
Preferred Experience
Candidates having experience in new project / greenfield or brownfield project execution in:
- DRI / Sponge Iron Plant
- SMS – Steel Melting Shop
- CPP – Captive Power Plant
- Ferro Alloy / Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF)
- Steel Rolling Mill
- Heavy Engineering / Metallurgical Projects
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment erection and commissioning.
- Good understanding of steel plant mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and equipment layouts.
- Strong vendor and contractor coordination skills.
- Good project monitoring and follow-up skills.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and project documentation.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to work at a project/plant site.
Ideal Candidate
A Mechanical Engineer/Diploma holder with hands-on experience in steel plant project execution, equipment erection, installation and commissioning, preferably having exposure to DRI, SMS, CPP and Ferro Alloy/SAF projects.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
