A UPS Service Engineer installs, commissions, maintains, and repairs uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems for clients, performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support. Key duties include handling installations and maintenance, diagnosing and fixing technical problems, maintaining detailed service reports, conducting site surveys, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols while building client relationships through expert advice. Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Commissioning:Install, configure, and test UPS systems and associated components.
- Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance, preventive inspections, and calibrations to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs:Diagnose and resolve technical issues, conduct repairs on UPS units, batteries, and other power management equipment.
- Customer Support:Provide on-site technical support, training to clients on equipment operation, and collaborate with them to assess power needs.
- Documentation:Maintain accurate service records, logs, and detailed reports on activities, system status, and recommended actions.
- Safety:Ensure all service work adheres to safety standards, regulations, and best practices, maintaining a safe work environment.
- Client Interaction:Build and maintain client relationships by providing expert advice on system optimization and solutions.
- Site Surveys:Conduct site audits to prepare scopes of work and propose suitable solutions.
Skills & Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with major UPS brands like Schneider Electric, APC, Eaton, or Liebert.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet customer expectations.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate service records and logs.
- Adherence to strict safety protocols when working with electrical systems.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and provide technical training.
Work Environment
- Field-Based:The role involves traveling to client sites for installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Client-Facing:Direct contact with customers is a core part of the job, serving as the liaison between the client and the company.
