We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power System Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting steady-state and dynamic stability analyses for renewable energy systems, including solar, wind, energy storage, and utility-scale power systems. This role also involves model development, data analysis, and contributing to simulation automation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Perform steady-state and dynamic stability studies for solar, wind, storage plants, and utility power systems.
Develop and validate models for inverters and power plant controllers in PSS®E, PSCAD, DigSILENT PowerFactory, and EMTP-RV.
Conduct power quality studies, including RMS and EMT simulations, and analyze bulk transmission and distributed generation system data.
Prepare comprehensive engineering reports documenting methodologies, assumptions, results, and recommendations.
Carry out Grid Performance Standards (GPS) compliance studies.
Support automation of PSCAD simulations to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Perform benchmarking and validation of models between PSS®E and PSCAD environments.
Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful study completion and compliance with technical standards.
Stay current with evolving power system standards, tools, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
3 to 5 years of experience using power system analysis tools such as PSS®E, PSCAD, DigSILENT, and EMTP-RV.
Strong understanding of power system dynamics, renewable energy integration, and grid code compliance.
Proficiency in RMS and EMT studies, with experience in data analysis techniques.
Experience with automation or scripting tools such as Python or MATLAB is an added advantage.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with national and international grid codes and standards (NERC, IEC, CIGRÉ).
Knowledge of renewable energy plant control systems.
Experience in model benchmarking and validation across different simulation platforms.
Previous consulting or utility industry experience.
Hands-on expertise with tools such as PSS®E, PSCAD, PSLF, PowerFactory, TSAT, and EMTP-RV.
Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
