Position Overview
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Engineer to manage procurement activities for raw materials, engineering components, consumables, and services required for manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, vendor management experience, and technical knowledge of industrial materials and engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure raw materials, aluminium profiles, engineering components, hardware, pneumatic fittings, consumables, and packaging materials.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Obtain quotations, compare commercial and technical offers, and negotiate the best pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely procurement as per production requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, Design, and Accounts departments for procurement planning.
- Monitor supplier performance based on quality, delivery, pricing, and service.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery and resolve supply-related issues.
- Maintain procurement records, purchase reports, and vendor documentation.
- Ensure purchased materials comply with technical specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct cost analysis and implement cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing.
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate with the Stores team to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and statutory requirements.
- Support annual vendor audits and vendor performance evaluations.
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of industrial procurement and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, ERP systems, and inventory management.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple procurement activities.

Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Industrial Engineering
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering may also be considered with relevant experience.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in Purchase or Procurement within a manufacturing industry.
- Experience in engineering, industrial equipment, piping systems, compressors, or fabrication industries will be preferred.

Job Summary
The Purchase Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials required for manufacturing FlowAir's Modular Aluminium Air Piping Systems. The position requires strong technical knowledge, supplier management expertise, and a commitment to quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
