We are looking for a technically strong and hands-on QA/AC cum R&D Executive with practical experience in spices, flours, and food product development.
Job Summary
The QA/AC cum R&D Executive will be responsible for quality assurance, quality control, raw material inspection, product testing, process monitoring, and R&D activities related to spices, flours, and other food products.
The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of spices and flour products, food quality standards, formulation, product development, and quality control procedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance & Quality Control
- Inspect and evaluate incoming raw materials, especially spices, herbs, grains, and flours.
- Monitor the quality of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
- Conduct quality checks for colour, aroma, taste, texture, moisture, cleanliness, and other relevant parameters.
- Ensure production processes follow established quality and food safety standards.
- Maintain quality specifications and acceptance criteria for raw materials and finished products.
- Identify quality deviations and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain QA/QC records, inspection reports, testing records, and batch documentation.
- Monitor hygiene, sanitation, pest control, and GMP practices within the production area.
- Coordinate with production and procurement teams to resolve quality-related issues.
- Support supplier evaluation and raw material quality assessment.
R&D / Product Development
- Develop and improve spice powders, flour products, blends, and other food products.
- Conduct trials for new products and improve existing formulations.
- Develop and maintain product formulations and standard recipes.
- Conduct sample preparation, product trials, sensory evaluation, and comparative testing.
- Work on improving product taste, aroma, colour, texture, shelf life, and consistency.
- Conduct trials for different raw material sources and suppliers.
- Maintain R&D trial records and prepare product development reports.
- Assist in scaling up successful laboratory or trial formulations for commercial production.
- Support shelf-life studies and product stability evaluations.
- Assist in identifying new food and spice product opportunities based on market requirements.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and maintain product specifications, SOPs, quality checklists, and batch records.
- Ensure products and processes comply with applicable food safety and quality requirements.
- Maintain documentation related to testing, sampling, product trials, complaints, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with external laboratories for testing whenever required.
- Support food safety audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in QA/QC, R&D, or product development in the food, spices, flour, or FMCG food industry.
- Strong practical knowledge of spices and flour products is essential.
- Good understanding of spice quality parameters, raw material identification, processing, grinding, blending, and storage.
- Knowledge of food quality control and food safety practices.
- Experience in product formulation and new product development will be preferred.
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices.
- Good analytical, observation, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to conduct product trials and sensory evaluation.
- Ability to work independently as well as coordinate with production and management teams.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Candidates with a background in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field will be preferred.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with hands-on experience in any of the following will be preferred:
- Spice powders and blended spices
- Chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, etc.
- Puttu podi, appam podi, flour and grain-based products
- Spice blending and formulation
- Raw material quality assessment

Compensation
₹20,000 – ₹55,000 per month, depending on relevant experience, technical knowledge, skills, and suitability for the role.
