Job Summary:
The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating mechanical designs for project execution. The role involves designing HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and other mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare mechanical design drawings and layouts for projects.
Design HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and utility systems as per project requirements.
Perform heat load calculations, pipe sizing, duct sizing, and equipment selection.
Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and material specifications.
Review tender documents, project specifications, and design requirements.
Coordinate with electrical, civil, architectural, and MEP teams.
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Support the procurement team with technical specifications and material approvals.
Attend design review meetings and client coordination meetings.
Provide technical support during project execution and site activities.
Prepare as-built drawings and design revisions when required.
Maintain design documentation and project records.
Required Qualifications:
B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
2–8 years of experience in MEP projects or mechanical design.
Experience in HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and MEP design.
Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
Technical Skills:
AutoCAD
Revit MEP
HAP software
MS Office
HVAC load calculation software
Knowledge of IS, ASHRAE, NBC, and other applicable standards
