Job Summary
The School Nurse is responsible for providing healthcare services to students and staff, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all residents on campus. The nurse will manage medical emergencies, maintain health records, administer medications, and promote health awareness among students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Student Healthcare
- Provide first aid and basic medical care to students and staff.
- Assess and manage minor illnesses and injuries.
- Monitor students with ongoing medical conditions and maintain treatment records.
- Administer prescribed medications as per doctor's instructions.
- Coordinate medical check-ups and health screenings.
Residential Care
- Be available to attend to students' health needs during school and hostel hours.
- Monitor the health and hygiene of hostel students.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment within the hostel premises.
- Coordinate with hostel wardens regarding student health concerns.
Emergency Management
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
- Arrange transportation and referrals to hospitals when required.
- Inform parents and school authorities about serious illnesses or emergencies.
- Maintain emergency medical supplies and equipment.
Health Records & Compliance
- Maintain accurate medical records of students and staff.
- Keep records of medications, treatments, and health incidents.
- Ensure compliance with school health policies and government regulations.
- Prepare health-related reports as required by management.
Qualifications
- B.Sc Nursing / GNM Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid Nursing Registration Certificate.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience, preferably in a school, hostel, or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of first aid, emergency care, and basic healthcare management.
Skills Required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle medical emergencies calmly and efficiently.
- Good record-keeping and organizational skills.
- Compassionate and student-friendly approach.
- Ability to work independently and in a residential school environment.
Working Conditions
- Residential position with accommodation provided.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergencies when required.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
