About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, monitoring operational expenses, preparing cost reports, and providing financial insights that support strategic business decisions. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with production and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate product cost sheets and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Calculate standard costs and analyze actual production costs.
- Perform break-even analysis, cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis, and profitability analysis.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management.
- Monitor raw material consumption, wastage, scrap, and production efficiency.
- Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Prepare and review inventory valuation and reconciliation reports.
- Ensure accurate allocation of direct and indirect manufacturing costs.
- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Stores, and Finance departments to improve cost efficiency.
- Develop and monitor key cost control measures.
- Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and statutory regulations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary financial data and reports.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
- Prepare management reports (MIS) and present financial insights to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CMA (Cost & Management Accounting) qualification or Inter/Final preferred.
- 3–8 years of experience in Cost Accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory valuation.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced functions, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
- Experience with ERP systems, SAP, Oracle, or Tally Prime.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Manufacturing or production industry experience.
- Knowledge of GST and statutory compliance.
- Experience in ERP implementation or process improvement projects is an added advantage.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
