- Diploma in Hotel Management / Hospitality Management from a recognized institute.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in a hotel, hospitality training institute, or educational institution is preferred.
- Freshers with excellent practical knowledge may also be considered.
Job Purpose
To assist faculty members in the smooth functioning of practical laboratories by maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing materials for practical sessions, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and proper inventory management, and providing operational support during practical classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratories before practical sessions as per faculty requirements.
- Arrange and maintain kitchen, bakery, restaurant, housekeeping, and front office laboratories.
- Ensure all equipment, tools, crockery, cutlery, glassware, linen, and consumables are available and in working condition.
- Clean, sanitize, and organize laboratory areas after every practical session.
- Maintain inventory of equipment, utensils, raw materials, chemicals, cleaning supplies, and other consumables.
- Report damaged, missing, or malfunctioning equipment to the Head of Department.
- Assist faculty during practical demonstrations, examinations, workshops, and training sessions.
- Ensure adherence to hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards.
- Follow safety procedures while handling electrical equipment, gas lines, kitchen appliances, and cleaning chemicals.
- Maintain stock registers, issue/return records, and laboratory maintenance logs.
- Coordinate with the purchase and stores department for procurement of laboratory materials.
- Assist in organizing seminars, events, food festivals, guest lectures, and practical examinations.
- Ensure laboratories remain neat, organized, and inspection-ready at all times.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department or University Administration.
