Job Summary
We are looking for skilled Grinders to join our shipbuilding and marine fabrication team. The candidate will be responsible for grinding, smoothing, cleaning, and finishing welded joints, metal surfaces, and structural components as per quality and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform grinding, smoothing, and finishing of welded joints and metal surfaces.
- Remove weld spatter, slag, burrs, sharp edges, rust, and other surface imperfections.
- Prepare metal surfaces for welding, painting, coating, and inspection.
- Use hand grinders, angle grinders, pneumatic grinders, and other power tools safely.
- Carry out weld dressing and surface finishing as per project specifications.
- Assist in preparing structural components such as plates, stiffeners, brackets, and other shipbuilding structures.
- Ensure proper grinding without damaging the base material or weld quality.
- Support welders and fabricators during fabrication and assembly activities.
- Inspect grinding tools and equipment before use.
- Replace grinding discs and consumables safely when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in the work area.
- Follow all shipyard safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
- Work safely at heights, in confined spaces, and onboard vessels when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Basic education preferred.
- ITI / Vocational training is an added advantage.
- Experience in shipbuilding, structural fabrication, heavy engineering, or construction industry preferred.
- Knowledge of operating electrical and pneumatic grinding machines.
- Ability to identify surface defects and finishing requirements.
- Good understanding of workplace safety practices.
Experience
Experience: 1–5 years preferred.
Freshers: Candidates with relevant practical skills may also be considered.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
