We are seeking an experienced and passionate Geography Teacher to teach students in Grades 6, 7, and 8. The ideal candidate should possess strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to make Geography engaging through interactive teaching methods, technology integration, and real-world applications. The teacher should inspire students to understand the physical and human environment while developing critical thinking, map-reading, and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Geography lessons aligned with the school's curriculum.
- Teach concepts such as physical geography, human geography, environmental studies, climate, natural resources, maps, and world geography.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning.
- Use innovative teaching strategies, digital tools, maps, atlases, videos, and hands-on activities to enhance student understanding.
- Assess and evaluate students through classwork, assignments, projects, presentations, and examinations.
- Provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate academic records.
- Encourage students to participate in geography-related projects, quizzes, exhibitions, and field trips.
- Integrate current events and global issues into classroom discussions.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and participate in curriculum planning and school activities.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and academic performance.
- Maintain discipline and uphold school policies and procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development programs, and school events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Social Science, or a related field.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed.) is mandatory.
- Master's Degree in Geography or related discipline will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in middle school (Grades 6–8).
- Experience in ICSE/CBSE curriculum is preferred.
