Job Summary:
The Sales Girl is responsible for providing excellent customer service while promoting and selling the restaurant’s menu items. This role requires a friendly, outgoing personality, the ability to engage with customers, and strong communication skills. The Sales Girl will assist in taking orders, answering questions, and ensuring customers have an enjoyable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction:
- Greet and welcome customers as they enter the restaurant.
- Assist customers in selecting menu items based on their preferences.
- Provide detailed information about food and drink items, including special offers and promotions.
- Respond to customer inquiries about menu items, dietary restrictions, and ingredients.
- Order Taking and Processing:
- Take food and beverage orders from customers efficiently and accurately.
- Input orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Ensure that customer orders are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
- Sales and Upselling:
- Actively promote daily specials, new menu items, and drink pairings.
- Upsell menu items to increase sales (e.g., suggesting appetizers, desserts, or beverages).
- Provide excellent service to encourage repeat business and customer loyalty.
- Payment and Checkout:
- Process payments via cash, credit card, or digital payment methods.
- Handle cash and make change accurately.
- Ensure that the restaurant's payment system is used correctly, following all procedures for processing transactions.
- Customer Experience:
- Monitor customer satisfaction during their meal and promptly address any issues or concerns.
- Ensure customers are comfortable and have everything they need for an enjoyable experience.
- Ensure tables are cleared and cleaned for the next group of customers.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other team members, including waitstaff, kitchen staff, and management.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and organized front-of-house area.
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Maintain Knowledge of the Menu:
- Stay informed about menu changes, specials, and promotions.
- Participate in regular training sessions to improve product knowledge and sales skills.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in sales or customer service is preferred.
- Knowledge of restaurant menus and food and beverage items.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly and outgoing personality with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift light to moderate objects (e.g., trays, drink orders).
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced restaurant setting with direct interaction with customers.
