Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Devops Engineer – GitHub/GitLab Repository & CI/CD SME with 5+ years of experience to join our team in a fully remote role. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on expertise in GitHub/GitLab repository administration, source code management, and CI/CD pipeline development and automation. This role requires a strong DevOps mindset, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level GitHub and/or GitLab repository architecture.
- Administer repository access, permissions, branch protection rules, and governance policies.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar tools.
- Automate build, test, deployment, and release processes across development, staging, and production environments.
- Define and enforce Git branching strategies, version control standards, and release management processes.
- Integrate code quality, security scanning, and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot repository, pipeline, build, and deployment issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with software development, QA, infrastructure, and security teams to improve DevOps practices.
- Monitor pipeline performance and recommend improvements for scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and best practices.
- Mentor engineering teams on Git workflows, repository management, and DevOps methodologies.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Software Configuration Management, or CI/CD engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise and/or GitLab.
- Expertise in GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or equivalent CI/CD platforms.
- Strong understanding of Git version control, branching strategies, merge requests, and pull requests.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
- Experience integrating DevSecOps tools such as SonarQube, Snyk, Checkmarx, or similar solutions.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, SDLC, and DevOps best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Familiarity with artifact repositories such as Nexus or JFrog Artifactory.
- Experience implementing enterprise DevSecOps practices.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
- Relevant certifications in GitHub, GitLab, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, AWS, or DevOps are an advantage.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
