JOB SUMMARY
The Accountant maintains Providence's financial records with accuracy and integrity. You will record transactions, manage student fees, reconcile bank accounts, and prepare financial reports. Your work ensures transparency to students and families, supports leadership decisions, and demonstrates accountability to accrediting bodies. This role is essential to Providence's credibility and financial sustainability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and record all transactions
- Manage student fee collection and follow up on outstanding dues
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and manage cash flow
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
- Monitor departmental expenditures against budgets
- Maintain fixed asset registers and verify asset changes
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements
- File GST, TDS, and Income Tax returns
- Support internal and external audits
- Review financial controls and recommend improvements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accountancy, or Finance
- Minimum 5-7 years of professional accounting experience
- Proficiency in Tally or Zoho Books
- Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills
- Experience with GST, TDS, and Income Tax filing
- CA/CMA/ACCA certification preferred
