The Director – Shared Services provides strategic leadership across APD's enabling
functions, ensuring that the organization operates efficiently, responsibly and in alignment
with its mission and strategic priorities.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the role is responsible for integrating Finance,
Human Resources, Information Technology, Administration, Procurement and other
corporate services into a high-performing shared services model that supports
organizational effectiveness and program excellence.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Director – Shared Services will
strengthen governance, drive operational excellence, champion digital transformation and
build organizational capability that enables APD to achieve sustainable impact.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Provide strategic leadership for all Shared Services functions.
Align operational priorities with APD's strategic plan.
Drive organizational effectiveness and continuous improvement.
Support the CEO and Executive Leadership Team in organizational planning and
decision-making.
Financial Stewardship
Provide oversight of financial planning, budgeting, reporting and internal controls.
Strengthen financial governance, compliance and resource stewardship.
Support long-term financial sustainability through effective planning and monitoring.
Operational Excellence
Develop an integrated Shared Services model that delivers efficient, responsive and
high-quality internal services.
Improve organizational systems, processes and service delivery across enabling
functions.
Establish meaningful operational measures and performance indicators.
Technology & Digital Transformation
Lead the implementation of technology solutions that improve organizational
efficiency and decision-making.
Promote data-driven management and continuous innovation.
Strengthen information governance and business continuity.
Governance & Risk
Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and donor requirements.
Strengthen organizational policies, internal controls and risk management practices.
Support Board Committees and external audit processes.
People Leadership
Lead and develop high-performing teams across Shared Services.

Build leadership capability and succession across enabling functions.
Stakeholder Management
Build productive relationships with internal leaders, Board Committees, government
authorities, donors, service providers and strategic partners.
Represent APD professionally in matters relating to operations, governance and
organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
Postgraduate qualification in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration,
Management or a related discipline.
Professional qualification such as CA, CMA, CPA or equivalent will be an advantage.
Significant senior leadership experience in Finance, Operations, Shared Services,
Corporate Services or General Management.
Demonstrated experience leading organizational transformation, operational
excellence and multidisciplinary teams.
Experience in technology-enabled transformation and organisational improvement.
Experience in the social sector is desirable but not essential.
