Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner as per menu.
- Handle bulk cooking for employees/students/customers.
- Maintain food taste, quality, and consistency.
- Plan daily/weekly menu and estimate ingredients.
- Supervise assistant cooks and kitchen helpers.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and dining areas.
- Ensure proper storage of raw materials and cooked food.
- Monitor stock and reduce food wastage.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards (FSSAI).
- Operate kitchen equipment safely.
- Coordinate with management for grocery purchase and maintenance.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of South Indian / North Indian cooking.
- Ability to cook for 50–500+ people.
- Time management and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety.
- Team handling ability.
- Experience in canteen, hotel, hostel, or industrial kitchen preferred.
Qualifications
- Minimum: 10th pass or relevant cooking experience.
- Hotel Management / Catering course preferred.
- 2–5 years experience in bulk cooking preferred.
Salary Range (Tamil Nadu)
- Fresher: ₹15,000 – ₹20,000/month
- Experienced: ₹22,000 – ₹40,000/month depending on location and workload.
