Key Responsibilities:
1. Instrument Management
- Maintain and control all measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, dial indicators, etc.)
- Ensure proper storage and handling of instruments
2. Calibration Activities
- Perform internal calibration of gauges and instruments as per schedule
- Maintain calibration records and history cards
- Coordinate with external agencies for calibration (if required)
3. Inspection & Verification
- Conduct inspection of parts using standard measuring instruments
- Verify dimensions as per drawings and specifications
- Support production and quality teams for inspection-related issues
4. Gauge Control
- Maintain master gauges, slip gauges, plug gauges, and thread gauges
- Ensure identification and traceability of gauges
- Monitor gauge wear and replacement requirements
5. Documentation
- Maintain calibration reports, instrument logs, and inspection records
- Ensure compliance with ISO/quality standards
- Update records in ERP/manual systems
6. Support to Production & QA
- Provide measuring instruments to shop floor as required
- Assist in resolving measurement-related issues
- Ensure correct usage of instruments by operators
7. Housekeeping & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness and standard conditions in the standard room
- Ensure proper environmental conditions (temperature, humidity if required)
- Follow safety and quality procedures
