About the Role
CarCutter is hiring a QA Engineer to own product quality across our image processing pipelines, client-facing APIs, WebPlayer experiences, and dealer integrations. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys breaking things before customers do. You'll work closely with engineering and CX teams to ensure every release is stable, reliable, and production-ready — across browsers, environments, and a diverse range of real-world dealership workflows.
If you care deeply about quality and want to be close to a product that is genuinely changing an industry, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
- Own Manual Testing: Execute thorough manual testing across product features, user flows, and releases — including image enhancement outputs, 360° spin behavior, WebPlayer rendering, and API response validation.
- Run Cross-Browser & Cross-Device Tests: Validate WebPlayer and product UI behavior across browsers and devices using BrowserStack or similar platforms — consistency matters when dealerships embed our viewer across dozens of different environments.
- Manage Defects: Log, track, and close bugs in collaboration with engineering using JIRA or equivalent tools, with clear reproduction steps and severity tagging.
- Be Part of the Team: Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives alongside engineering, product, and CX teams.
- Improve Continuously: Contribute to improving test coverage, tooling, documentation and QA processes as the product and team scale.
What We're Looking For
Hard Skills & Experience:
- 2–4 years of experience in both manual and automated testing
- Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver or equivalent automation frameworks
- Experience with cross-browser testing tools (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or similar)
- Working knowledge of REST APIs and the ability to test them using tools like Postman
- Familiarity with Git and Agile/Scrum development workflows
- Strong understanding of QA fundamentals — test design, defect lifecycle, and regression strategies
Nice to Have:
- Experience testing image processing systems, media pipelines, or computer vision outputs
- Familiarity with AWS services (S3, CloudWatch Logs) for log-based debugging
Education: A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
Soft Skills:
- Ownership mindset - you take responsibility for quality, not just test execution
- Detail-oriented and methodical, with a sharp eye for edge cases
- Strong communicator who can clearly articulate bugs and their impact to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Self-driven and comfortable working across global time zones
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Why Join Us?
At CarCutter, quality isn't an afterthought - it's core to what we deliver. You'll be working on a product where precision genuinely matters: a pixel off, a spin frame out of sequence, or a broken integration can directly affect how a dealership presents inventory to thousands of buyers. Your work will have visible, real-world impact.
You'll join a collaborative, cross-functional team spanning India, France, and Austria, in an environment that values initiative and continuous improvement.
