Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will manage day-to-day financial operations with a heavy focus on inventory management, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) tracking, vendor payables, and showroom/online sales reconciliation. The ideal candidate has direct experience or a strong interest in retail, manufacturing, or wholesale furniture operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory & Cost Accounting
Track stock movements across warehouses, showrooms, and transit; conduct periodic physical inventory audits and reconcile variances.
Calculate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) including raw materials (timber, upholstery, hardware), direct labor, freight, and landed costs.
Account for damaged, returned, or customized furniture pieces and process scrap/discount adjustments.
2. General Ledger & Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow).
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations across multiple sales channels (e.g., retail showrooms, e-commerce platforms, interior designer trade accounts).
3. Accounts Payable & Receivable
Process invoices from lumber suppliers, hardware vendors, freight carriers, and custom fabricators.
Manage customer billing, deposit tracking for custom furniture orders, and payment collection.
Track vendor payment terms and take advantage of early payment discounts where applicable.
4. Sales Tax & Compliance
File local, state, and multi-state sales tax returns for online and showroom furniture sales.
Ensure compliance with trade regulations, import duties, and local business tax laws.
Key Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience: 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail, manufacturing, logistics, or consumer goods.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with ERP and accounting software .
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial modeling).
Pay: From ₹15,000.00 per month
