Job Summary:
Responsible for performing Ultrasonic Testing (UT) inspections on welds, castings, forgings, pipes, pressure vessels, and structural components to identify internal defects and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Ultrasonic Testing (UT) inspections as per approved procedures.
- Interpret and evaluate UT inspection results according to applicable standards.
- Identify and report defects such as cracks, porosity, inclusions, laminations, and lack of fusion.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain NDT records.
- Calibrate and maintain UT equipment before and after inspections.
- Review engineering drawings, welding procedures, and inspection requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Coordinate with clients, quality engineers, and production teams regarding inspection findings.
- Participate in audits and quality improvement activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- ASNT Level II or Level III certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
- Knowledge of NDT methods and inspection standards.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- Familiarity with codes such as:
- ASME Section V
- ASME Section VIII
- AWS D1.1
- API Standards
- ISO 9712
Experience:
- 1 – 2 years of experience in NDT inspection.
- Experience in oil & gas, fabrication, power plant, manufacturing, or construction industries preferred.
Skills:
- UT flaw detection and thickness measurement.
- Report preparation and documentation.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
