Job Summary
The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for supporting the Restaurant Manager in the daily operations of the café, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining product quality, and driving operational excellence. The role includes supervising café staff, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, managing inventory, supporting sales initiatives, and creating a welcoming environment that reflects the brand's values.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
- Assist in managing daily café operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain high standards of coffee quality, food presentation, cleanliness, and hygiene.
- Monitor opening and closing procedures to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Support implementation of operational policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Customer Experience
- Deliver an outstanding guest experience by maintaining excellent service standards.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Build customer loyalty by creating a warm, friendly, and engaging café environment.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements where required.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, motivate, and support baristas, cashiers, and service staff.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
- Conduct daily team briefings and ensure adherence to service standards.
- Monitor staff performance and provide coaching to improve productivity and customer service.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor inventory levels for coffee beans, milk, food items, packaging, and café supplies.
- Coordinate stock ordering and receiving while minimizing wastage.
- Ensure proper storage and stock rotation (FIFO).
- Assist in controlling food, beverage, and operational costs.
Sales & Business Performance
- Support achievement of sales targets and café profitability.
- Promote seasonal beverages, food offerings, and loyalty programs.
- Analyze daily sales reports and identify opportunities to improve performance.
- Assist in executing local marketing and promotional activities.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate operational records, cash handling procedures, and shift reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and brand standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in café, coffee chain, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience.
Skills & Competencies

- Knowledge of coffee shop operations and beverage service.
- Basic understanding of coffee brewing methods and café products.
- Inventory and cost management skills.
- Proficiency in POS systems and MS Office.
