Position Summary
The Engineering Manager – Product Development will lead cross-functional engineering teams in the design, development, and validation of innovative electromechanical products and technologies. This role is responsible for driving the technical direction, managing end-to-end product development, and ensuring the delivery of high-performance, reliable, and manufacturable products.
Working closely with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and global engineering teams across Europe and the USA, the Engineering Manager will transform customer and market requirements into robust technical solutions while fostering innovation, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute engineering strategies for new product development and electromechanical platforms.
- Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams comprising Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, and Systems Engineers.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
- Plan team resources, workload distribution, and competency development to support business objectives.
Product Development
- Lead the complete product development lifecycle from concept, feasibility, detailed design, prototyping, testing, validation, and production transfer.
- Drive system architecture by integrating mechanical, electrical, embedded software, and control systems.
- Review and approve engineering documentation, technical specifications, engineering analyses, and verification & validation plans.
- Ensure products meet customer expectations, industry standards, quality requirements, and manufacturability objectives.
Project & Stakeholder Management
- Manage multiple product development projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, timeline, and quality targets.
- Collaborate with Product Management to define product requirements, feature roadmaps, and innovation strategies.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Work with suppliers and external technology partners to evaluate new materials, components, and emerging technologies.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans to ensure successful project execution.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Drive product validation, reliability testing, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and quality management systems.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, development efficiency, and engineering best practices.
Experience
- 8–12+ years of experience in Product Development, Mechanical Design, Mechatronics, or Electromechanical Systems.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience leading engineering teams or managing technical projects.
- Proven experience in developing complex products within Automotive, Industrial Automation, Robotics, Medical Devices, Consumer Electronics, or related industries.
- Strong technical background in mechanical design, electronics, embedded systems, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
- Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional engineering teams and complex product development programs.
Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,400,000.00 per year
