Position: Academic Counselor
Position Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic, target-driven, and student-focused Academic Counselor to join our Kharagpur office. The ideal candidate should have experience in student admissions and counseling and be passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Admissions Counseling: Conduct telephonic consultations with prospective students to understand their educational background, career goals, and aspirations. Provide tailored guidance on suitable academic programs, admission requirements, and application procedures.
- Information Provision: Serve as a knowledgeable resource on various educational institutions, including their offerings, campus culture, and admission criteria. Offer accurate information and insights to help students make informed decisions about their academic paths.
- Application Assistance: Assist students in navigating the application process, including filling out forms, gathering required documents, and adhering to deadlines. Provide feedback on application materials such as resumes, essays, and personal statements to enhance their quality and effectiveness.
- Follow-Up Support: Maintain regular communication with students via phone calls, emails, and virtual meetings to address any concerns or questions they may have throughout the admissions cycle. Offer ongoing support and encouragement to ensure a smooth and successful transition into their chosen educational programs.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of interactions with students, including notes from counseling sessions, progress updates, and relevant documentation. Ensure accuracy and confidentiality in all record-keeping activities.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other members of the admissions counseling team to share insights, best practices, and resources. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about industry developments and organizational initiatives.
- Target Achieving: Generate successful student enrollments by engaging with prospective students and parents, addressing their concerns, providing accurate course information, and implementing effective conversion strategies to meet and exceed monthly targets.
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum 6 months of experience in college or institutional admissions, student counseling, or a related role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a target-oriented environment.
- Good counseling, persuasion, and relationship-building skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with CRM or admission management systems will be an advantage.
- Graduate in any discipline (preferred).
- Language - Bengali, English, Hindi.
