Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Team Leader – Database Development to lead our database development team in designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining robust database solutions that support enterprise-level .NET applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, database architecture, performance tuning, and team management while ensuring seamless integration with .NET-based software products and solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Development & Design
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable database solutions for .NET applications.
- Create and manage database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and indexes.
- Develop efficient SQL queries and optimize existing database objects.
- Participate in database architecture and system design discussions.
- Ensure data consistency, integrity, and security across applications.
- Support application development teams by providing optimized database solutions.
Performance Optimization
- Monitor and optimize database performance.
- Perform query tuning and indexing strategies to improve application responsiveness.
- Analyze database bottlenecks and implement corrective measures.
- Conduct database health checks and performance audits periodically.
Project & Team Leadership
- Lead a team of Database Developers and SQL Programmers.
- Assign tasks, monitor deliverables, and ensure project timelines are met.
- Review database designs and code to maintain development standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
- Coordinate with .NET Developers, QA Teams, Business Analysts, and Project Managers.
Data Management & Integration
- Support data migration, ETL activities, and database upgrades.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data extraction processes.
- Ensure smooth integration between databases and web applications.
- Collaborate with development teams during product releases and deployments.
Quality & Compliance
- Establish database development standards and best practices.
- Ensure proper documentation of database structures and processes.
- Maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company security and data governance policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Relevant certifications in SQL Server or Database Technologies will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in Database Development.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Team Handling or Technical Leadership.
- Experience working in Software Product Development or IT Services organizations.
- Strong exposure to .NET application environments.
