Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled Junior Design Engineer to support machine design, layout planning, mold coordination, and customer application engineering activities. The ideal candidate will work closely with Sales, Production, R&D, and Clients to deliver accurate layouts, manufacturable designs, and customized engineering solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Requirement & Application Support
- Study customer requirements received from the Sales team.
- Understand concrete blocks, pavers, and other concrete product applications.
- Analyze production capacity, cycle time, and process flow requirements.
- Review utility requirements including power, air, water, and hydraulic systems.
- Coordinate with clients for technical discussions and application support.
- Provide technical inputs to Sales during project planning.
Layout Planning & Client Coordination
- Prepare plant layouts and General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
- Modify layouts based on site conditions and customer feedback.
- Coordinate layout approvals and revisions with clients.
- Ensure feasibility of installation and operational requirements.
Mold Design & Product Development
- Understand concrete product specifications and performance requirements.
- Coordinate mold design development with internal teams and vendors.
- Support mold approvals and machine compatibility checks.
- Assist in product trials and design improvements.
Design & Engineering Support
- Prepare machine drawings, assembly drawings, and part drawings.
- Generate and maintain BOMs (Bill of Materials).
- Develop foundation, electrical routing, and utility layout drawings.
- Support customer-specific modifications and customization projects.
- Conduct tolerance analysis and manufacturing feasibility checks.
R&D & Continuous Improvement
- Support new product development and R&D projects.
- Assist in prototype design and documentation.
- Participate in value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
Manufacturing & Field Support
- Provide design support to Production and Assembly teams.
- Review vendor drawings and coordinate design changes.
- Support installation and service teams with field-level design requirements.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of machine design and industrial layouts.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D Modeling, Assemblies, Weldments, Sheet Metal) and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of GD&T, fabrication processes, machining processes, and material selection.
- Understanding of surface treatment and heat treatment processes.
- Knowledge of PLC, HMI, Sensors, Encoders, Servo Motors, and Automation Systems.
- Strong understanding of Gearboxes, Bearings, Fasteners, and Engineering Calculations.
- Familiarity with utilities planning and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
