1. Project Planning & Coordination Develop execution plans, schedules, and resource allocation. Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and client representatives. Align railway siding works with overall plant/infrastructure timelines. Identify critical work fronts and mitigate delays. 2. Technical Oversight Review and approve engineering drawings, method statements, and construction sequences. Ensure compliance with Indian Railways standards, RDSO guidelines, and relevant codes. Monitor track geometry, alignment, ballast quality, and civil structures. Supervise installation of signaling, track fittings, and safety systems. 3. Vendor & Contract Management Manage contracts with civil, track-laying, and signaling vendors. Approve vendor bills, monitor progress against milestones, and ensure timely payments. Negotiate extensions of time (EOT) and variation orders. Maintain transparent communication with suppliers and contractors. 4. Safety & Compliance Prepare and enforce Job Safety Analyses (JSA), risk matrices, and safety documentation. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and environmental clearances. Conduct toolbox talks, site audits, and accident investigations. Implement emergency preparedness plans. 5. Stakeholder Communication Act as the primary interface between client, railway authorities, and contractors. Draft formal correspondence for approvals, inspections, and compliance submissions. Coordinate with railway officials for inspections, approvals, and commissioning. 6. Reporting & Documentation Prepare daily progress reports (DPRs) covering manpower, equipment, and work fronts. Submit weekly and monthly progress reports with milestone tracking, delays, and recovery plans. Maintain dashboards for cost, schedule, and risk monitoring. Document site photographs, inspection records, and compliance certificates. Present consolidated reports to senior management and client authorities. Ensure accurate as-built documentation for handover. 7. Quality Assurance Establish inspection and test plans (ITPs) for track materials, welds, ballast, and structures. Conduct site checks and third-party audits. Maintain documentation for handover and commissioning. 8. Financial & Resource Management Track budgets, material consumption (ballast, sleepers, rails, sand, cement). Optimize procurement schedules to avoid shortages. Approve invoices, monitor cash flow, and ensure cost control. 9. Risk & Issue Management Identify risks related to land acquisition, material supply, weather, and regulatory delays. Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans. Escalate critical issues with proposed solutions. 10. Commissioning & Handover Oversee testing and commissioning of siding tracks, signaling, and safety systems. Ensure documentation of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and compliance certificates. Facilitate smooth handover to client and railway authorities
