Job title - Transportation Manager
Position Overview:
The Transportation Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and supervision of all transportation operations within the institution/organization. The role ensures efficient vehicle deployment, safe travel, cost-effective operations, and compliance with all regulatory and institutional requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and manage daily transportation operations including route scheduling, vehicle allocation, and driver assignments.
- Ensure timely and safe transportation of students, staff, and goods.
- Supervise drivers, conductors, and support staff; manage duty rosters and monitor performance.
- Maintain proper records of vehicle movement, fuel consumption, and trip logs.
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations, safety protocols, and institutional policies.
- Oversee preventive and regular maintenance of all vehicles to minimize downtime.
- Monitor expenses related to fuel, maintenance, and repairs; ensure cost control.
- Handle transportation-related complaints, queries, and requests effectively.
- Liaise with external agencies, transport authorities, and vendors when required.
- Implement safety awareness programs and ensure strict adherence to traffic rules.
- Maintain updated documentation such as insurance, permits, and driver licenses.
- Prepare regular reports for management on transport operations, costs, and efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in transportation/logistics management.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of fleet management, route optimization, and vehicle maintenance.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and fleet management software (preferred).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage emergencies effectively.
Work Conditions:
- Office and field-based role with frequent interaction with drivers and vehicle staff.
- May require flexible working hours, including weekends or holidays, depending on operational needs.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
