Description
The Project Manager will report to the Global Practice Manager – Water and will be responsible for executing projects across all Water business lines. This role will foster a culture of proactive communication and effective project delivery, with a strong focus on interdisciplinary coordination and scope management. The Project Manager will support Department Managers in the successful execution of projects across their respective departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participates in project execution strategy and planning. Drives innovative solutions and technological advances. Develop engineering plans to support successful project delivery. Review estimates and provide inputs for efficient utilization.
- Lead project scope definition and execution, provide status updates, and ensure overall performance of the project delivery team.
- Develop, monitor, and manage project schedules; proactively guide teams to meet deliverable deadlines.
- Ensure effective interdisciplinary coordination across departments, resolving execution conflicts that impact schedule, budget, or client commitments.
- Promote and ensure implementation of BMcD Quality Control procedures.
- Identify and oversee the implementation of effective change management practices; proactively address deficiencies through corrective actions.
- Represent the BMI Water group in project meetings and serve as a primary point of contact for the project execution team. Circulate Minutes of Meetings to stakeholders. Work closely with the multi-disciplinary CAD coordinators.
- Partner with counterpart Project Managers to conduct regular project reviews, ensuring on-time, within-scope, and on-budget delivery while identifying and mitigating execution risks.
- Coordinate with the Water Projects Manager and Global Practice Manager to support the overall financial goals of the Water Global Practice, including business planning and financial reviews.
- Ensure Lessons learned from past projects are reviewed and implemented in current projects, making sure Knowledge Capture Tool for the current project is logged.
- Implement and continuously improve project management best practices, methods, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited program, plus a minimum of 10-15 years as Project Engineer/Project Manager or Discipline engineer with at least 5 -7 years in leading the projects preferably in engineering design and/or program management.
- Demonstrated experience in client engagement and people management.
- Proven success managing projects, including proposal development, project planning, design team coordination and communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.
- Strong facilitation, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on budget and achieving savings and/or target profit margins.
- Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage teams.
- Excellent planning and analytical skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex information to employees, management, and clients at all levels.
- Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, including Microsoft Project, Primavera or equivalent software.
