About the Role:
We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional to lead product costing and RFQ estimation, with a strong focus on Activity-Based Costing (ABC) in a manufacturing environment.
This role requiresa combination of engineering understanding and cost accounting principles to ensure accurate, competitive, and data-driven pricing.
Qualification : We are open to candidates from:
Option 1 (Preferred)
- B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering)
- With experience in costing / estimation
Option 2
- CMA (Cost & Management Accountant) / CA (Inter or Final)
- With exposure to manufacturing costing
Option 3 (Hybrid)
- Engineer + certification / experience in costing or finance
Experience : 3 – 8 years in :
- Costing / estimation / cost analysis
- Manufacturing industry (automotive/electrical/plastics preferred)

Key Job Responsibilities :
RFQ & Product Costing:
1) Prepare detailed costing for customer RFQs based on drawings and specifications
2) Estimate:
a) Raw material costs (plastics, metals, plating, etc.)
b) Process costs (injection moulding, stamping, assembly, finishing)
c) Tooling and development cost.
3) Design costs
4) Validation and Testing costs
Activity-Based Costing (ABC)
1) Develop and implement activity-based costing models
2) Identify key cost drivers such as:
- Inspection and rework activities
- Allocate overheads accurately based on activities instead of traditional methods
- Improve visibility into true product cost and profitability
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Production, tooling, design, purchase, and quality teams
- Validate assumptions through shopfloor understanding
Data & Continuous Improvement
- Compare estimated vs actual costs and improve accuracy
- Build and maintain costing databases and templates
- Support management in pricing strategy and margin improvement
Skills Required :
- Manufacturing processes (Injection moulding preferred)
- Activity-Based Costing (ABC) concepts
- Cost drivers and overhead allocation
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Strong analytical and Excel skills
