Job Summary
Anandi School is seeking an experienced and passionate Music Teacher to lead music education across the Primary and Middle School years. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching within the IB framework, particularly the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and possess strong knowledge of both Indian and Western music traditions. This role requires a teacher who can inspire students across age groups, support interdisciplinary learning, and contribute to the development of a rich and culturally diverse performing arts program.
A key requirement for this position is MYP ePortfolio experience, as the successful candidate will be expected to guide and mentor colleagues in MYP assessment and portfolio practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging music lessons for Primary and Middle School students.
- Develop students' musical skills through singing, instrumental work, composition, performance, listening, and creative expression.
- Foster appreciation and understanding of Indian traditional music and art forms while introducing students to a variety of global and Western musical traditions.
- Prepare students for performances, exhibitions, assemblies, and school events.
- Assess, document, and report student progress in alignment with school and IB expectations.
- Support interdisciplinary and inquiry-based learning experiences.
- Collaborate with teachers across programmes to integrate music into the broader curriculum.
- Contribute to the development of the school's performing arts culture.
- Mentor and support colleagues in MYP assessment practices and ePortfolio implementation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Music, Performing Arts, Music Education, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in Music Education.
- Demonstrated experience with IB MYP ePortfolio (Mandatory).
- Experience teaching students in Middle School age groups.
- Ability and willingness to work with younger learners in the Primary Years Programme (PYP).
- Strong understanding of child development across primary and middle school age ranges.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Essential Requirements
- Hands-on experience with MYP ePortfolio and MYP assessment processes.
- Strong understanding of Indian traditional music and art forms (Mandatory).
- Ability to support and train colleagues on MYP ePortfolio requirements and best practices.
- Experience designing engaging, student-centered learning experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching within IB PYP and/or MYP environments.
- Appreciation and knowledge of Western music traditions, theory, and performance practices.
- Experience directing choirs, ensembles, musical productions, or school performances.
- Familiarity with inquiry-based and concept-driven learning approaches.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
