Job Summary
Sea Blue Shipyard is seeking skilled and dedicated Fitters to join our shipbuilding and ship repair projects. Candidates with experience in marine, shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore, or structural steel fabrication are preferred. Candidates from heavy engineering and structural fabrication industries are also encouraged to apply. Freshers with relevant technical qualifications and a willingness to learn are welcome.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret fabrication and assembly drawings.
- Fit, align, and assemble steel structures, hull sections, bulkheads, decks, and marine equipment.
- Perform marking, measuring, cutting, grinding, drilling, and fitting operations.
- Install and align structural components as per engineering specifications.
- Work closely with welders, fabricators, supervisors, and QA/QC personnel.
- Carry out repair and modification work on vessels during ship repair projects.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
- Follow all shipyard safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively.
Eligibility & Experience
- 2–10 years of experience as a Fitter in Shipbuilding, Ship Repair, Marine, Offshore, Heavy Engineering, or Structural Steel Fabrication.
- Candidates with structural fabrication experience are also eligible.
- Freshers with relevant technical qualifications can also apply.
Educational Qualification
- ITI in Fitter, Marine Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Fabricator, or related trades.
- NCVT/SCVT certification is preferred.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Ability to read fabrication and assembly drawings.
- Knowledge of fitting and alignment techniques.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments and fabrication tools.
- Basic understanding of welding and fabrication processes.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
