Position Summary
To mitigate long-term operational risk and reduce single points of dependency within IT Operations, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure & Database Operations Engineer to support critical enterprise platforms and services. This role will provide technical leadership and operational support across database administration, middleware optimization, cloud infrastructure, GitHub administration, and Oracle audit remediation activities.
The ideal candidate will possess strong cross-functional infrastructure expertise with the ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and support complex enterprise environments across Oracle, cloud, and middleware technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Administration & Performance Optimization
- Perform database tuning, performance optimization, and remediation activities across enterprise database environments.
- Analyze and resolve database performance bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and system inefficiencies.
- Support database health monitoring, patching, upgrades, backup/recovery validation, and operational stability initiatives.
- Partner with vendors and internal support teams to address identified gaps in database support capabilities.
- Middleware & Integration Platform Support
- Support middleware and integration platforms through tuning, optimization, troubleshooting, and operational maintenance activities.
- Monitor application integrations and platform performance to ensure system reliability and availability.
- Assist with configuration management, deployment support, and issue remediation activities.
- Cloud Infrastructure Administration
- Provide administration and operational support for Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments.
- Support cloud resource provisioning, monitoring, security compliance, and infrastructure optimization efforts.
- Assist with cloud migration, automation, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
- GitHub Administration & DevOps Support
- Administer and maintain GitHub repositories, access controls, branch management, and governance standards.
- Support CI/CD integration activities and repository management best practices.
- Partner with development and infrastructure teams to improve source control and deployment processes.
- Oracle Audit & Compliance Support
- Support Oracle audit remediation activities and compliance initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal audit support teams to ensure remediation tracking and documentation requirements are met.
- Assist with operational readiness and governance activities related to Oracle licensing and compliance.
- Operational Support & Leadership
- Participate in production support, incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Collaborate with global IT Operations teams across multiple regions and support models.
- Contribute to risk mitigation efforts by expanding technical coverage and reducing operational dependencies on key individuals.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure, Database Administration, or Production Operations support.
- Strong experience with Oracle database administration, tuning, and performance optimization.
- Experience supporting middleware and enterprise integration platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Experience administering GitHub repositories and DevOps support processes.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting enterprise production environments and critical business applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.TECH in Computer Science, Information Technology or related filed.
- Experience working within global enterprise IT Operations environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, incident management, and change management.
- Experience supporting Oracle audit remediation or compliance initiatives.
- Knowledge of automation and scripting tools.
