Senior Operational Support Officer
About the Role
The Senior Operational Support Officer (Sr OS) is responsible for the accurate, timely, and high-quality delivery of operational support activities underpinning internal corporate governance and company secretarial services, in line with the ICG Target Operating Model (TOM). The role acts as a subject-matter specialist and senior executor, handling more complex, sensitive, or high-volume work, supporting consistency of delivery, and providing day-to-day guidance to Operational Support Officers where required.
Key Responsibilities
**Operational Delivery**
- Deliver defined operational support activities in support of Governance Leads and Governance Team Leaders, including the preparation of board and committee agendas, packs, and supporting materials.
- Produce first-draft minutes (where allocated under TOM).
- Prepare and circulate governance documentation.
- Fulfill audit, finance, and internal due-diligence requests.
- Ensure outputs are accurate, complete, and delivered within agreed timelines.
- Manage more complex or sensitive operational tasks as allocated by the Team Lead.
**Quality, Controls, and Standardisation**
- Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs), templates, and workflows.
- Perform quality checks on own work and peer-review outputs produced by Operational Support Officers as required.
- Support the consistent application of standard ways of working across the team.
- Identify recurring issues or risks and escalate them to the Operational Support Team Lead.
**TOM and Collaboration**
- Operate within the ICG Target Operating Model, maintaining clear boundaries between operational execution and governance ownership.
- Work closely with Governance Leads to support timely and effective delivery.
- Provide practical input to process improvement and standardisation initiatives.
Requirements
- Typically, 5+ years’ experience in company secretarial, governance, or legal operational support roles.
- Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in company secretarial, governance, or legal environments.
- Strong experience in company secretarial, governance, or legal operational support roles.
- Excellent attention to detail and document control discipline.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Confident working with senior stakeholders in a professional services environment.
- Experience working within shared services or operating-model environments is desirable.
