Job Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat patients with benign and malignant blood disorders.
- Manage conditions such as anemia, thalassemia, hemophilia, leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and clotting disorders.
- Interpret and evaluate laboratory investigations including CBC, peripheral smear, coagulation profile, bone marrow aspiration, and biopsy reports.
- Plan and monitor chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive treatment for hematological malignancies.
- Perform and supervise bone marrow aspiration and biopsy procedures.
- Coordinate patient care with Medical Oncologists, Surgical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, and other specialists.
- Manage blood transfusions, blood component therapy, and transfusion-related complications.
- Monitor treatment response, disease progression, and long-term follow-up of patients.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital protocols.
- Provide patient and family counseling regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and prognosis.
- Participate in clinical meetings, CMEs, quality improvement initiatives, and academic activities.
