Job Title: Billing Engineer (Civil / Electrical / Interior / HVAC)Job Summary
The Billing Engineer is responsible for preparing, verifying, and managing project bills, ensuring accurate quantity measurements, and coordinating with project teams for smooth financial and contractual operations across civil, electrical, interior, and HVAC works.
Key Responsibilities1. Billing & Documentation
- Prepare RA bills (Running Account Bills) and final bills for clients.
- Verify contractor/vendor bills as per BOQ (Bill of Quantities).
- Maintain proper billing records and documentation.
- Ensure timely submission of invoices.
2. Quantity Take-Off (QTO)
- Measure quantities from drawings (civil, electrical, HVAC, interiors).
- Prepare BOQ and compare with actual site execution.
- Track variations and extra items.
3. Rate Analysis & Costing
- Perform rate analysis for extra/non-BOQ items.
- Assist in project budgeting and cost estimation.
- Monitor project costs vs budget.
4. Coordination
- Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and contractors.
- Work with accounts team for payment processing.
- Liaise with clients/consultants for bill approvals.
5. Contract & Tender Knowledge
- Understand contract terms, payment conditions, and clauses.
- Assist in tender preparation and bid evaluation.
- Handle variation orders and claims.
6. Site Work Monitoring
- Visit site for measurement verification.
- Ensure work execution matches billed quantities.
Required Skills & KnowledgeTechnical Skills
- Knowledge of:
- Civil works (RCC, finishing, etc.)
- Electrical systems (wiring, panels, load calculations basics)
- HVAC systems (ducting, piping, AHU basics)
- Interior works (false ceiling, flooring, furniture)
- BOQ preparation and rate analysis
- Quantity surveying
Software Skills
- AutoCAD (basic drawing reading)
- MS Excel (advanced formulas, billing sheets)
- ERP/ billing software (like SAP, Tally – optional)
Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in:
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering (for HVAC)
Experience
- 1–3 years (Junior Billing Engineer)
- 3–7 years (Senior Billing Engineer)
