Designation :- School Laboratory Executive
Job Description:-
- Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical sessions.
- Assist teachers during science experiments and demonstrations.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and safety.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Conduct regular inspections of laboratory equipment and arrange repairs when needed.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and place orders for replenishment.
- Keep records of equipment usage, maintenance, and stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and laboratory safety regulations.
- Train students on proper laboratory procedures and safe handling of equipment.
- Set up laboratories for examinations and practical assessments.
- Coordinate with vendors for procurement of laboratory equipment and consumables.
- Support science-related projects, exhibitions, and events.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) or a related field.
- Experience working in a laboratory or educational institution is preferred.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and safety procedures.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and record keeping.
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety standards.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic laboratory equipment issues.
- Time management and multitasking abilities.
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- 1–3 years of experience in a school, college, research, or industrial laboratory.
- Familiarity with laboratory management software is an advantage.
- Certification in laboratory safety or first aid is desirable.
- Primarily works in school science laboratories.
- May handle chemicals, glassware, and scientific instruments.
- Requires adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Laboratories are prepared and ready before scheduled practical sessions.
- High compliance with laboratory safety standards.
- Accurate inventory and timely procurement of supplies.
- Minimal equipment downtime due to effective maintenance.
