About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Procurement & Buying Manager to join our growing health and nutrition business. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing new products, developing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and promotional agreements, managing inventory levels, and driving profitability across our product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate new products, brands, and suppliers within the health, nutrition, wellness, and sports supplement sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, rebates, promotional support, and supply agreements.
- Identify opportunities for exclusive deals, promotions, and special offers to increase sales and profitability.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging product categories.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing overstock and slow-moving inventory.
- Forecast purchasing requirements based on sales trends, seasonal demand, and business growth objectives.
- Coordinate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to plan product launches and promotional campaigns.
- Analyze product performance, margins, and supplier effectiveness through regular reporting.
- Ensure timely replenishment of stock and maintain healthy inventory turnover.
- Develop purchasing strategies that support company growth and profitability targets.
- Resolve supplier issues relating to pricing, stock shortages, delivery schedules, and product quality.
Requirements
- Product knowledge of health supplements, vitamins, and wellness products would be highly advantageous.
- Proven experience in procurement, buying, purchasing, category management, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Experience sourcing products and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Good understanding of inventory management, forecasting, and stock control.
- Strong analytical and commercial decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple supplier relationships.
Pay: ₹180,000.00 - ₹360,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
