An Education Counsellor is responsible for guiding students in selecting suitable academic programs, universities, and career paths. The Academic counsellor provides accurate information about courses, admission procedures, documentation, visa processes (if abroad studies), and supports students throughout the admission journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Counsel students and parents regarding educational programs in India and abroad.
- Understand student profiles and suggest suitable courses and universities.
- Explain admission procedures, eligibility criteria, fee structures, and scholarship options.
- Assist students with application forms and documentation.
- Guide students through visa processes (for overseas education).
- Follow up with leads and maintain regular communication with prospects.
- Coordinate with universities and internal teams for smooth admission processing.
- Maintain proper records of enquiries, applications, and conversions.
- Achieve monthly admission targets.
- Participate in education fairs, seminars, and promotional activities.
- Required Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong counselling and convincing abilities.
- Knowledge of domestic and international education systems.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, CRM systems).
- Ability to handle parents and students professionally.
- Target-oriented and self-motivated.
