Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Assistant Manager – Credit Control & Accounts Receivable to lead the receivables and collection function for a large customer base of over 10,000 customers. The role involves managing a team, driving collection efficiency, minimizing credit risk, ensuring strong internal controls, and supporting business growth through effective receivables management.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Control & Receivables Management
Lead and oversee the Accounts Receivable and Credit Control function.
Manage receivables portfolio across 10,000+ customers.
Ensure timely collection of outstanding dues and achievement of collection targets.
Monitor ageing reports and drive reduction of overdue receivables.
Approve and review customer credit limits based on risk assessment.
Develop collection strategies for high-risk and delinquent accounts.
Monitor customer payment behavior and recommend corrective actions.
Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop the Credit Control and Collections team.
Allocate targets and monitor team performance through KPIs.
Conduct regular review meetings and ensure timely follow-up of outstanding collections.
Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and customer service excellence.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
Strengthen credit policies and internal control mechanisms.
Identify collection risks, fraud risks, and control gaps.
Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and credit procedures.
Coordinate with Internal Audit and Finance teams on control-related matters.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
Prepare and present MIS reports on collections, ageing, overdue accounts, and credit exposure.
Collaborate closely with Sales, Finance, Logistics, and Management teams.
Provide recommendations to improve cash flow and working capital efficiency.
Support management in strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, MBA Finance, or related discipline.
7–12 years of experience in Credit Control, Accounts Receivable, Collections, or Finance Operations.
Proven experience in managing teams and large customer portfolios.
Strong knowledge of receivables management, credit risk assessment, and internal controls.
Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel.
Excellent leadership, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Experience in Manufacturing, FMCG, Distribution, or Retail sectors preferred.
