TECHNICAL GROUP HEAD - CLIENT SERVICING – ROLES AND KEY RESPONSBILITIES
1. As a Technical Group Head, you will be responsible to ensure timeliness, accuracy and quality for every deliverable agreed in the letter of engagement for each client, plan and oversee the entire lifecycle of your allocated 12+ client portfolio, including:
I. Strategic Planning: Planning the delivery of Letters of Engagement (LoE) and participating in the implementation of standard practices and Floraison client servicing guidelines.
II. End-to-End Client Lifecycle: Actively participating in new client entity set-ups, smoothly taking over retainer activities, and providing ongoing high-level consultation for existing clients.
III. Standardization & Compliance: You will ensure the strict implementation of:
a. Accounting software and customized Chart of Accounts (CoA).
b. Comprehensive Compliance, Weekly Accounting, and Payroll Calendars.
c. Monthly Fund Request Statements and timely invoicing as per signed MSAs.
IV. Operational Excellence: Implementing strict book closure processes and the submission of accurate MIS reports.
V. Corporate Governance: Coordinating with the Company Secretarial team to ensure corporate and regulatory activities (such as Board Meetings and related compliances) are executed as required.
VI. Audit & Tax Strategy: Guiding your team in advance tax preparation and overseeing the "Real time" Preventive Audit process. You will review reports and provide the final sign-off, ensuring all tax and audit objectives are met within your group.
VII. The "Best of Both Worlds" for Our Talent: By merging these teams, you will empower our Articles and Accountants to work across both accounting and audit functions. This cross-training will keep the team motivated, reduce under-utilization, and ensure our staff are the most well-rounded professionals in the industry.
2. Team handling: You will have full ownership of a dedicated "Group" consisting of:
a. Manager Finance & Accounts: Reporting to you, handling daily client servicing and operations as per the engagement, covering activities like accounting and bookkeeping, withholding taxes, GST matters, compensation and benefits, labour law matters and MIS reporting. The Manager F&A will be duly supported by team of accountants.
b. Manager Audit & Tax (Qualified CA): Reporting to you and responsible for preventive audits and annual activities including closing statutory audits, direct tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing & annual filings, duly supported by executives and/ or articles.
3. Technical & Collaborative Support - Research, stay updated, foster knowledge and provide technical expertise, training, orientation & guidance, professional advisory, consulting, opinions & guidance, initiate & participate in discussions on all technical matters arising in relation to various situations, assist with collaboration between all the above groups to provide holistic client deliverables.
4. Potential & New Client Support - Work closely with management for preliminary discussions & consulting with potential new clients, support with onboarding new clients, support management with allocation of clients to various groups, kickstarting & mapping new activities etc.
5. 360 Degree View of Transactions - Professionally & independently work closely with team assigned to and try to understand, assess & advise implications of specific transactions, special events, or critical business decisions of clients – adopt a 360-degree view wherever necessary and ensure client interest is protected and enhanced.
6. Enriching Consulting Experience to Clients - Participate in client interactions, client calls, client discussions, client presentations & client communications to provide clients with enriching & valued consultation experience, support with delivering curated and timely MIS reports to clients, in mutual collaboration with client servicing teams.
7. Consultations and discussion with Management – Proactively initiate and participate in holistic high-level consultations and discussions with management to report and provide status updates and insights on all client and team matters that need close management attention.
8. People Management: People management, requires you to closely work with Business HR & intervene on developing people technical skills & administration matters like leave approvals.
9. Management Support – Support with implementation and management of Workflow tools, Time and productivity tools, Management reporting tools, Standard operating procedures, Client servicing guidelines and various policies and procedures as defined by management from time to time.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
1. Technical Expertise:
- Experience: 4+ years in a professional service in CA firm or Consulting firm preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Tally, QuickBooks, or Zoho Books. Payroll software: GreytHR, KEKA & Advanced proficiency in MS Excel is mandatory.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of Indian accounting standards, GST laws, and Income Tax provisions.
2. Essential Skills:
- Client-First Mindset: Ability to plan, organise and manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while maintaining high service standards.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English skills are required for interacting with global parent companies and local stakeholders.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess the tax implications of business decisions and provide sound professional opinions.
