Company Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Legal Advisor to provide expert legal guidance and support across all areas of our property management operations. This role will involve advising on lease agreements, tenant disputes, property compliance, regulatory matters, and contract management. The Legal Advisor will play a key role in ensuring that all company activities are legally sound and fully compliant with applicable real estate and tenancy laws.
In addition, the Legal Advisor will provide specialized support in employment law with IP Sections working closely with the HR team and management. Responsibilities will include advising on labour law compliance, reviewing internal policies, assisting with employee-related legal matters, resolving disputes, and mitigating legal risks associated with employment practices Role and Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate lease and rent agreements, service contracts, vendor agreements, and property management contracts.
- Provide legal advice on landlord-tenant relationships, rent disputes, evictions, security deposits, and lease terminations.
- Ensure compliance with local property laws, building codes, health & safety regulations, and tenancy acts.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, including dispute resolution, arbitration, and litigation as needed.
- Conduct due diligence on properties under management, including title checks, encumbrances, and regulatory clearances.
- Liaise with tenants, property owners, government authorities, legal bodies, and external legal counsel.
- Develop and implement legal policies and procedures for property management practices.
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting real estate and property management operations.
- Maintain up-to-date records of legal documents, licenses, and contracts.
- Provide legal advice on employment law, workplace policies, and employee relations.
- Draft and review employment contracts, agreements, and HR policies.
- Assist in handling disciplinary actions, employee grievances, and internal investigations.
- Ensure legal compliance with labour regulations and corporate standards
- Represent the company in labour disputes, negotiations, and regulatory matters.
- Conduct training on legal issues such as workplace ethics, harassment prevention, and compliance.
- Maintain legal documentation related to employee matters.
- Support in managing employment litigation and liaising with external counsel when required
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; Master’s degree or specialization preferred.
- 0-5 years of legal experience, preferably in a corporate or advisory role.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, regulatory frameworks, and risk management.
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of labour laws, HR processes, and dispute resolution.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple legal issues simultaneously.
