Job Description (JD) – Process Supervisor (Waste Oil Recycling Plant)
Position: Process Supervisor Department: Production / Operations
Location: Gummidipoondi
Reporting To: Plant Manager / Production Manager
Job Purpose To supervise and control waste oil recycling operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant processing of waste oil into finished products while maintaining quality, productivity, and environmental standards.
Working Hours : 12 hours
Key Responsibilities Production Operations Supervise daily waste oil recycling activities, including receipt, storage, processing, and dispatch.
Monitor process parameters such as temperature, pressure, vacuum, flow rate, and product quality.
Ensure smooth operation of reactors, kettles, distillation units, boilers, condensers, pumps, and storage tanks.
Coordinate batch processing and production schedules to meet targets.
Minimize process downtime and production losses.
Process Monitoring & Control Monitor plant operations and troubleshoot process abnormalities.
Ensure proper operation of heating systems, vacuum systems, cooling systems, and pollution control equipment.
Maintain process records, logbooks, and production reports.
Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and yield.
Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with Factory Act, Pollution Control Board norms, and Hazardous Waste Management Rules.
Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Monitor use of PPE and safe work practices.
Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
Quality Control Coordinate with QC laboratory for raw material and finished product testing.
Ensure products meet specified quality standards.
Monitor process deviations affecting product quality.
Maintenance Coordination Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
Ensure equipment inspections are carried out as scheduled.
Report equipment defects and follow up on corrective actions.
Team Management Supervise operators, helpers, and contract workers.
Allocate manpower and monitor shift activities.
Train operators on SOPs, safety procedures, and process requirements.
Maintain discipline and productivity within the team.
Educational Qualification Diploma / B.E. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
Experience Diploma: 5–8 years experience in waste oil recycling, petrochemical, refinery, lubricant, chemical, or hazardous waste processing industries.
B.E./B.Tech: 3–5 years relevant experience.
Required Skills Knowledge of distillation, vacuum processing, heat transfer, and oil recovery operations.
Understanding of hazardous waste handling and environmental regulations.
Ability to read P&ID drawings and process flow diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting and supervisory skills.
Knowledge of MS Office and production reporting.
Preferred Experience Waste oil recycling plants.
Used oil re-refining operations.
Lubricant blending plants.
Hazardous waste treatment facilities.
Solvent recovery and distillation plants.
