Functional Responsibilities
· Supervision & Operations Management
1) Oversee and guide the work of pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and support staff.
2) Supervise dispensing activities for IPD, OPD, and satellite pharmacies to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
3) Verify prescriptions for correctness, legality, and therapeutic appropriateness before dispensing.
4) Act as the in-charge in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacy Incharge.
· NABH Compliance & Quality Standards
1) Ensure implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in accordance with NABH Medication Management & Use (MMU) standards.
2) Monitor adherence to protocols for storage, handling, and disposal of medications.
3) Oversee documentation and reporting of medication errors, near misses, and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs).
4) Participate actively in NABH internal audits, quality meetings, and Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee activities.
· Inventory & Stock Control
1) Monitor inventory levels and initiate procurement requests for essential and life-saving medicines.
2) Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) practices.
3) Oversee expiry checks, segregation, and disposal as per hospital policy.
4) Supervise cold chain maintenance for temperature-sensitive medicines.
· Patient & Staff Support
1) Provide medication counseling to patients and caregivers, especially for complex therapies.
2) Assist doctors and nurses with information on drug availability, dosage, and interactions.
3) Train and mentor junior pharmacists on clinical and operational protocols.
· Regulatory Compliance
1) Ensure all pharmacy activities comply with the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, NDPS Act, and other applicable laws.
2) Maintain proper records for narcotic and psychotropic drugs.
3) Ensure pharmacy licenses and statutory documents are up to date.
· Emergency & Critical Care Support
1) Ensure availability and prompt dispensing of emergency and crash cart medicines.
2) Support emergency pharmacy operations during mass casualty situations or shortages.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
