Position Summary
We Vend is seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager – Vending & Micro Retail to oversee the day-to-day operations, performance, and growth of our vending machine and micro retail business. This role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence across the Pune area, maximizing machine uptime and product availability, managing inventory and logistics, leading field teams, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
The ideal candidate combines strong operational leadership, analytical thinking, supply chain management expertise, and a customer-focused mindset to drive profitability and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee all vending and micro retail operations across assigned locations.
- Ensure machines, kiosks, and micro markets are fully stocked, operational, clean, and compliant with company standards.
- Develop and implement operational processes that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Monitor service levels, machine uptime, and operational KPIs to ensure performance targets are met.
- Coordinate installation, relocation, and removal of vending and micro retail units.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management
- Manage inventory planning, procurement, replenishment, and distribution.
- Optimize product assortment based on sales trends, customer preferences, and profitability.
- Minimize stockouts, spoilage, shrinkage, and excess inventory.
- Maintain accurate inventory controls and reporting systems.
- Work closely with suppliers and distributors to ensure timely product availability.
Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and develop route drivers, merchandisers, technicians, and operations staff.
- Establish performance expectations and accountability measures.
- Conduct regular team meetings, coaching sessions, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of safety, customer service, and continuous improvement.
Technology & Equipment Management
- Oversee vending management software, inventory systems, cashless payment technologies, and remote monitoring platforms.
- Ensure machines and retail technology are functioning properly and serviced promptly.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules and repairs with internal teams and external vendors.
- Evaluate new technologies and operational tools that improve efficiency and customer experience.
Financial & Performance Management
- Manage operational budgets and control expenses.
- Analyze sales, margin, inventory, and operational performance data.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue, improve profitability, and reduce operational costs.
- Prepare and present regular operational reports and recommendations to leadership.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning initiatives.
Customer & Client Relations
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, location partners, and stakeholders.
- Address customer concerns and service issues promptly and professionally.
- Conduct site visits and business reviews to ensure client satisfaction.
- Support sales and business development efforts by identifying operational opportunities and service enhancements.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, health standards, company policies, and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to operations, inventory, and safety.
- Promote and enforce workplace safety procedures across all operational activities.

Qualifications
Required
- Graduate with good MS Office skills, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5+ years of operations management experience, preferably in vending, retail, food service, logistics, distribution, or micro market operations.
- Experience managing inventory, logistics, and field service teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations.
Preferred
- Experience with vending management systems, micro market platforms, and cashless payment technologies.
- Knowledge of inventory optimization, route management, and warehouse operations.
- Experience managing multi-site operations.
- Familiarity with food safety and retail compliance requirements.
