RESPONSIBILITIES:-
- Hemodynamic Monitoring: Continually evaluate blood pressure, MAP, CVP, oxygen saturation, and heart rate to identify arrhythmias or cardiac decompensation.
Patient Care and Assessment
- Individualized Care: Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care based on evidence-based practices.
- Acute Care: Provide care to patients experiencing acute myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, or severe arrhythmias.
- Physical Exam: Perform head-to-toe assessments, noting subtle hemodynamic changes.
Documentation and Collaboration
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, real-time documentation of patient conditions, interventions, and assessments.
- Multidisciplinary Teamwork: Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and technicians to update care plans.
- Education and Advocacy: Educate patients and families on heart health and prepare them for discharge.
- Critical Interventions: Perform cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), defibrillation, and assist with intubation, extubation, and temporary pacemaker management.
- Medication Administration: Prepare, administer, and monitor high-alert cardiovascular medications (e.g., vasopressors, anti-arrhythmics) and manage intravenous lines.
- Cardiac Testing: Perform or assist with electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs), stress tests, and echocardiograms.
- Device Management: Manage specialized equipment, including intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), ventricular assist devices (VAD), and telemetry monitors.
