Job Summary
The Pharmacist Head is responsible for managing overall pharmacy operations, ensuring safe and effective medication dispensing, supervising pharmacy staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and improving patient care services. The role includes inventory management, quality assurance, budgeting, and coordination with healthcare professionals.
Key ResponsibilitiesPharmacy Operations
- Oversee day-to-day pharmacy activities
- Ensure accurate dispensing of medications
- Maintain proper storage and handling of medicines
- Monitor prescription processing and patient safety
Team Management
- Supervise pharmacists, technicians, and support staff
- Prepare staff schedules and duty rosters
- Conduct staff training and performance evaluations
- Maintain discipline and teamwork within the department
Inventory & Procurement
- Monitor stock availability and reorder levels
- Control medicine expiry and wastage
- Coordinate with suppliers and purchase departments
- Ensure availability of emergency and critical medicines
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and hospital policies
- Maintain records for narcotics and controlled substances
- Prepare for audits and inspections
- Implement SOPs and quality standards
Clinical & Patient Care
- Provide drug information and medication counseling
- Review prescriptions for dosage accuracy and interactions
- Support doctors and nurses regarding medication use
- Promote safe and rational drug usage
Financial Management
- Monitor pharmacy budget and operational costs
- Verify billing accuracy and insurance claims
- Improve pharmacy profitability and cost efficiency
Quality Assurance
- Implement medication safety initiatives
- Report adverse drug reactions and medication errors
- Maintain documentation and quality records
- Participate in hospital accreditation activities
Reporting
- Prepare monthly inventory and performance reports
- Maintain purchase, dispensing, and stock records
- Analyze pharmacy KPIs and operational performance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D)
- Registered Pharmacist license
- Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) preferred
Experience
- 5–10 years of pharmacy experience
- Minimum 2–3 years in supervisory or managerial role

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
