Job Purpose
To ensure the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of the hospital's plumbing, water supply, drainage, electrical, lighting, and power systems. The role is responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, emergency breakdown handling, and ensuring the smooth functioning of hospital infrastructure.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlumbing Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, inspect, and repair water supply pipelines, drainage lines, valves, taps, wash basins, toilets, and sanitary fittings.
- Attend to plumbing complaints and breakdowns from hospital departments promptly.
- Identify and rectify water leakages, blockages, pipe damage, and water pressure issues.
- Monitor and maintain water tanks, pumps, pipelines, and water distribution systems.
- Maintain plumbing systems in patient rooms, toilets, ICU, OT, Emergency, laboratory, and other hospital areas.
- Carry out preventive maintenance as per the hospital maintenance schedule.
- Attend to emergency plumbing issues that may affect patient care or hospital operations.
Electrical Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, inspect, and repair electrical wiring, switches, sockets, lights, fans, and electrical fixtures.
- Attend to electrical complaints and breakdowns promptly.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore power supply safely and efficiently.
- Inspect and maintain electrical panels, distribution boards, MCBs, MCCBs, ELCBs/RCCBs, and related systems.
- Maintain electrical systems in critical areas such as ICU, OT, Emergency, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, and other patient-care areas.
- Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of DG sets, UPS systems, batteries, stabilizers, and backup power systems, where applicable.
- Check emergency lights, exit lights, electrical sockets, and other electrical safety systems regularly.
- Report electrical hazards and ensure proper earthing and electrical safety.
- Respond immediately to electrical emergencies and power failures affecting critical hospital areas.
General Maintenance Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance of plumbing and electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, preventive maintenance, breakdowns, repairs, and spare parts used.
- Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, spare parts, and consumables properly.
- Coordinate with external vendors and authorized service providers when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area after completing maintenance activities.
- Follow hospital safety, fire safety, infection-control, and occupational safety procedures.
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing maintenance work.
- Follow electrical isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures where applicable.
- Attend emergency maintenance calls during shifts, weekends, holidays, or outside regular working hours when required.
- Perform any other maintenance-related duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager / Facility Manager.
Qualification & Experience
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Plumbing, or relevant technical qualification preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in electrical and plumbing maintenance.
- Hospital / Healthcare facility maintenance experience will be an added advantage.
- Electrical license / certification preferred, as applicable.
- Good knowledge of electrical wiring, panels, power distribution, plumbing pipelines, pumps, valves, and sanitary fittings.
- Basic knowledge of DG, UPS, inverter, stabilizer, and emergency power systems is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical and plumbing breakdowns efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Good communication, discipline, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts and attend emergency breakdowns when required.

Pay: ₹18,086.00 - ₹64,916.40 per month
