The PGT Mathematics teacher is responsible for teaching senior secondary classes, building strong conceptual understanding, and preparing students for board and competitive examinations through effective pedagogy and assessment practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Mathematics to Classes XI & XII as per the prescribed syllabus
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons using modern teaching strategies
- Prepare students for board examinations and competitive exams (as applicable)
- Design worksheets, assignments, projects, and assessments
- Evaluate answer sheets and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate academic records and student progress reports
- Integrate technology and digital tools into teaching
- Identify learning gaps and provide remedial or enrichment support
- Participate in curriculum planning, academic meetings, and school activities
- Guide students in mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and logical thinking
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding academic progress
- Uphold school policies, discipline, and professional ethics
Qualifications & Eligibility
- Postgraduate degree in Mathematics (M.Sc. Maths or equivalent)
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution (mandatory)
- CTET/State TET qualification (preferred, if applicable)
- Strong command of senior secondary Mathematics syllabus
